Local 1000A supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada

UFCW Canada, Local 1000A donates funds and assistance to many different organizations throughout the year. However, the most notable work done by the union and this local for a charitable organization is its fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Since adopting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada as its charity of choice in 1985, members of UFCW Canada have raised almost $19.8 million for leukemia research.

Members and staff of Local 1000A are constantly involved with organizing and participating in charitable events across Ontario, in efforts to raise money and awareness for leukemia research.

UFCW Canada Local 1000A is a proud fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Through the collected efforts of the staff and membership many initiatives including, cash calendar sales, barbeques, book sales, boat cruises, individual raffles and golf tournaments, over $200,000 has been donated by the local in support of Leukemia Research.
